THE HIGHEST TOWER IN MEXICO WAS DESIGNED BY COINTEC™
In 1994 in MEXICO, COMISION FEDERAL DE ELECTRICIDAD and TECHINT S.A of C.V. put COINTEC S.A. of C.V. in charge of the complete design of EHVL 2x 400 Kv / 400kV+2x 230 kV Lázaro Cárdenas – Donato Guerra – San Bernabé system.
In México D.F., in TOLUCA corridor, strain towers 4PR3+20 of 72 m height were employed. These towers were tested in USA’s EPRI and they are the highest Towers in Mexico.
Their associated suspension towers are the 4PH3 of 56 m height. Later on, COINTEC™’s design extended to a corridor that can be seen by tourists when they are travelling through the road that links Cancun with Playa del Carmen and other Mexican lines.
